About client

The client, a UK-based company, had the purpose of making a positive social impact on the developing nations and growth economies. The company's mission is to empower small businesses across developing countries to grow by enabling easy access to markets and services.

The client's platform is supposed to:

Facilitate the process of entering the market for small & medium entrepreneurs
Allow small businesses to impact the market conditions and pricing
Provide an opportunity to make new connections across the country
Provide support from the government, businesses and investors
Establish a self-regulated process of goods delivery

The client needed a technical partner who would help them create a business management solution for micro-SMEs in high growth economies.

The purpose was to build a sustainable platform and environment that would benefit small entrepreneurs on the way to their growth. This is a long journey where every turn is an attempt to improve the business world and the lives of ordinary people.

What We Covered

Discovery Phase

The team conducted research on the obtained documentation, analyzed the web product, held a series of talks with the business side to define the project's scope. During the Discovery Phase, we also conducted an extensive competitors analysis and research of mentality and market features in several developing countries.

Involving the team in the discovery phase meant establishing objectives, carrying out user research, outlining the main flows, understanding the underlying drivers, not just the solution proposed by the client.

UX Architecture

Getting a notion of what should be implemented, we started to wireframe the flows, transfer the documented business logic to the screens. We had active brainstorming sessions within the team and with the business side. As a result, an information structure and several key logical blocks emerged, which we allocated to separate apps.

UI Design

Now with the wireframes designed, we started to visualise and brand the product's interface elements, in order to give the idea a unique visual style. In addition to that, we prepared a UI kit containing all of the interface's unique elements, conditions and standards.

Prototyping

We built a clickable prototype - a scaled-down version of the future product - so stakeholders could test it early on and give meaningful feedback on how to improve it. For the client, it was a way to bring the idea to their users and gain support.

Product Development Plan

To facilitate future work, we’ve prepared a comprehensive product development plan for each stage of the product life cycle. The results we have achieved will help the client move the concept toward development and obtain investment support.
